Dan grew up in Israel until age 6, then lived in Boston and Southern California.
He did his B.A. at UC Berkeley in Physics, received a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Yale, was a professor at Ewha University in Korea and then returned to school to complete a J.D. at NYU Law School.
His legal practice is focused on defamation litigation and education law.
Recent cases include a Court of Appeal defamation case related to January 6, a federal defamation case against Lauren Boebert, a state law case against D.U. for legal claims related to anti-semitism that was settled in his client's favor, and a tenure dispute with University of North Colorado winning tenure for his client.
